Saving DDS Repaints

Hello smile.gif

I've just finished the .bmps for a repaint of the Aerosoft F-16 in RNZAF (ex PAF)colours, I saved them as .DDS through DXTBmp. The textures look fine zoomed up close, but when zoomed out some of the textures looks a blurry and its really annoying!! pirate.gif

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any good .DDS repainting tools?

I can provide the .bmps if anyone want's a shot at it... any help would be great smile.gif

DXTBMP can only save in DDS format with mipmaps. If you want to save without, you would need to use ImageTool from the SDK (which means you need FSX Deluxe).

ImageTool is part of the Terrain SDK, and found here:

E:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Terrain SDK

(note: My SDK is installed on E:, yours may be somewhere else). If you haven't installed the SDK, it's a separate install on DVD 1 of the Deluxe edition. If you have updated FSX to SP2 or Acceleration, be sure also to update the SDK.

ImageTool is documented in the Modelling SDK, in the section "Texturing Aircraft Models".
