March Screenshot Competition

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Ian Warren, the member who won last month's competition has been generous enough to forward on his prize for a member to win this month instead. Good on ya Ian!clapping.gif

This month Orbx Simulation System are sponsoring our screenshot competition. This means that the person who gets the most votes for the best screenshot at the end of the month will receive any one ORBX product of their choice, free of charge! These products can be viewed at orbxsystems.com/products... Now that's an incentive for you all to enter!

Note- whilst this comp is open to both FS9 and FSX users, the Orbx prize is exclusively for use with FSX. This means that, if a FS9 user does win with the most votes, the prize will be passed down to a FSX user with the next highest amount of votes, however, the original winner's screenshot will still be cropped into the banner. Remember, it's not the winning that counts- it's the taking part that matters!

This is the 33rd monthly screenshot competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF.

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high resolution version saved on your computer; the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert into a site banner!

3) Also remember, try and make your shot suitable for a thin rectangular banner. Think about that when positioning your aircraft and choosing camera angles etc. (and please don't include any text on the image either)

4) Images can be submitted from March 8th 2009 to March 31st 2009, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission before the closing date if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by using the edit button at the bottom of your post. Please don't post saying you have edited your original entry, as this creates unnecessary clutter).

5) On March 31st, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the Orbx prize!

6) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

7) This month's theme is, as picked by Ian is: 'World War 2 Combat Aircraft over NZ photoreal scenery'. Plenty of opportunities for screenshot scenarios here!

All the best to everyone, lets see lots of entries guys! May the best screenshot win! ninja.gif

Awesome Ian,

What else can I say?

Excellent choice of themes also.

This is going to be a boomer.

Record entries I think.

Cheers

Surprise for both sides , the German forward fighter base at Ryan,s field Stewart Island NZ,1946, The weather still controlled the air movements, the Lan'c

It was only the cloud and judgment off aircrew that saved the day any loss of life , all this for practice for the upcoming Wanaka and Omaka Airshows

This is all FS9 , no multiplay , just a little play and edit , throw it in a pot .. the PC , and cook smile.gif the photo real scenery is NZ-Dunedin with payware AH Lancaster
and Flight Replicas Bf-109K .

I've entered this before (in colour) but I don't have any proper WW2 aircraft in FSX yet...

WOP Spitfire over Mount Egmont, FS9

I think for the comp theme to work the ground has to be visible in the image.

Though there are alot of WW2 Aircraft in NZ ,they did have a Avro fully flying around NZ at one stage and as you see at airshows and in private hangers there are many around ...
In theses comps we see alot of things that dont really happen or the aircraft has never been in NZ before so this comp really is no different ...

I dunno, much as I like Hinch's shot I don't know how well it will translate into a letterbox shaped banner. Now that one Naki just posted ...

Mmm, might have to get into this one myself biggrin.gif

Thanks for your kind comments, it is one of my better edits - it's been ages since I've done one!

If it helps my chances - I'm coming to NZ for several months when I graduate to make use of the ski instructor qualification I have followed closely by my sister who will be working for a year somewhere too =)
