What area does the Hamilton Scenery cover? My grandad owned a farm out at Paterangi and I would love to land on his airstrip clapping.gif

How did you place those images because they don't come in Geo-tiff format?

Something like Gobal mapper or GIS tools ,i got mine along time ago when i tryed it all out in 2004 but could never work it out so it got put away for a year or two ,its alot easier doing this in FSX ..
I suggest you search for tuts and info on all this ,Robin Corns tuts found all over the net mention bits and pieces and are very well written ,though there are many more i still found aswell .
I had alot of problems and had to ask for alot of advice ....

Ah the ole' Wakachangchang!

Looking real good Mike- have you updated the resolution of the original photoreal textures from FS9, or does everything just look better in X? tongue.gif

Freakin Awesome mate, Do you have an ETA of such yet??

Postby creator2003 » Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:27 pm

No no eta as such ,this is one area that needs as much work as possible to make it shine ,the Waikato is as flat as a pancake in the area im doing with just alot of farm land and a low level city ,the feature only being the river really ,so detail Agn and vfr objects are a must in bring the land to life ..

At the moment the agn is about quarter to half way done ,bear in mind that this part is a huge job and really is a must to photoreal images layed down in the sim, thank god i have a master at AGN Ian Warren doing a wonderful job and really moving this side of the job leaps and bounds ..
the Airport is mainly done but still with ground polys to be done and detail to be finished off , though remember this all take a very long time with beta testing re doing stuff that mite need moving around ,,ie the other day i had to move the runway alignment by meters this i thought would only take me 4hours ,3 full days later i finally got it nailed , so you can see i could never give a exact date month ,all i can say is it will be this year ..

I Like posting pictures here on the forums to show the work being done and i am at most working on it on a daily bases, i think you will from the images i post see how close we are getting ...

Does Morrinsville fit in there? I would love to have my old Grandparents house in there, sadly it is no more, as the new police station took it over.
When asked what I have contributed to on this earth my reply will be my daugther

Nah the other main areas of the Waikato are in black and white ,now i have been working on a recoloring of some of them but this is a long task and has a somewhat impossible feel to doing it on such a large Area ..
I wish i could join them on to the scenery im doing but doing the recoloring wouldnt be up to payware standard and as it is the size of the area is already 8800 sq km ..
