Out of curiosity, will all of the reporting points around the airport be included?
For example the big white church at Temple View, Mystery Creek showgrounds, Rukuhia (there are some big white orchard sheds up on the hill on Ohaupo Rd) etc...
It would make it so much easier to navigate if these were included.
P.S. lovin the screenshots thus far! Lookin flippin' fantastic! biggrin.gif

Crikey!! Next thing you're gonna want someone to re-write the default ATC so you can be cleared a "North" or "South Arrival"!! I guess that'll be as real as it gets!! tongue.gif Just kidding.......

haha - good call!
Just would be good to have a few landmarks/reporting points to navigate with.
I'm new to the area and have just started flying at Hamilton so find it hard on FSX without the big white church, mystery creek etc haha.
I'm sure I'll learn soon enough!
Do you work at the Hamilton ATC tower? I thought Id seen in another post somewhere that you did?

Yup - I work in the tower (Its on my profile - I'm not important enough that I should get my own post laugh.gif ). I'm there until at least the end of this year, after which I'll be moving to Auckland and will be working as an Oceanic Radar Controller. I've also been working with Mike/Creator2003 as part of his HamiltonX project. And I must say you'll be VERY happy with the scenery - we'll just have to make sure we don't put too many AI Robins and Katana's in the circuit!! tongue.gif

Yeah... they'll get all upset when us interlopers from NZAR show up tongue.gif

Although these days I prefer to come in under cover of darkness... so the only people I seem to annoy are the fire rescue guys doing drag races up and down the runway!! ninja.gif

I prefer under the cover of darkness, all lights off and sneaking in at 250tf MSD. Pulling to the hover outside the tower just to wave at Mattress and realise he is tucked up at home in bed and i am not.... Those were the days...

Although my last trip to Hamilton there was some very casual chat on the frequency.

Oh and the loan of a vehicle for lunch. Cheers.

mmmmmmm Pizza.......

No galley in a plastic rat either so it's still squashed sandies and a drink for flight snacks. Roll on the NH90, at least we may be able to make a cup of coffee. Still no hot food tho.

How's the progress with The Tron going?
Have you got any more enticing screenshots to show us of your work?
Absolutley loving the ones you've posted so far - so much detail!!
Can't wait to see the final product - have a few "recession pennies" tucked away for the release....

Good work Mike! I spent the first 8 years of my life in Huntly, so i will be happy to take a flight down there! Naturally i spent some weekends in Hamilton in the late 70's and early 80's going to the Centenial pools. It will be great for you to fly in your own hometown, while for me it will be flights of nostalgia!

Good on ya mate! KAPAI! New_Zealand_etc.gif
