Nah, actually it was from the Air New Zealand Cup match (Manawatu vs Otago) in 2007. Last week probably would have proven equally fruitful for helo shots, though.

Ok first time at one of these screenshot competitions. I recently went to the RNZAF Whenuapai open day and had a great time taking photos of all the spectacular aircraft on display.
This is one of the RNZAF's boeing 757s at the Whenuapai 2009 open day. Roaring down the runway towards me, I think it shows the impressive technology our small air force possesses!

I am hugely excited about this months competition. Heck I've just been to the Wellington Aeroclub open day.
I've only got to choose from about 500+ DSLR aviation photos...

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

C130 at NZAA- not sure if this a permanent entry yet or just a place holder. Might swap it out later in the month if I take any more photos.

My entry is of a little bit of NZ aviation history
At Nelson Airport 1954 just before I boarded for a flight to Christchurch.
Ex RNZAF DH89a Dominie NZ531 (c/n 6668 HG669) became ZK-BBP when sold to Airwork (NZ) ltd, and was operated
by subsidiary South Island Airways until 1956. The aircraft was used by Trans Island Airways until exported
to Australia. As VH-AAG the aircraft was used for freight work (during which it suffered fire damage), and
then passenger work. In 1963 the aircraft was damaged (beyond economic repair) when it hit a Kangaroo on an
airstrip. The aircraft was used as a target by the RAAF on the Leanyea range near Darwin in the following
year.

I think the Proctor in the background is the one that Brad A J Bradshaw (Thelma Bradshaw's husband) flew out from England.
ZK-AVW (c/n Ae78) ex G-AGWW Named 'Kiwi Wanderer', this aeroplane was flown to New Zealand by Arthur Bradshaw.
The aircraft was last flown at Wanganui in October 1972. The registration was cancelled on January 25, 1991. Currently in storage at Auckland.

Well I haven't thrown my hat in the ring for one of these competitions so I guess its about time. I took this sometime ago in NZHN while strolling around the perimeter fence.

I'm not in it for the prize and would be willing to 'share it' and give someone else the chance to give it the good home it deserves!!

Mat

Seems like we've got a lot of first-time entries this month. I know I'm one.

I know it's not really the focus of a flight simming website, but perhaps this is a flavour of the competition worth holding more often?
