I'm pretty sure that FS2004 would run on it with all the graphics maxed out, but don't about FSX (I never tried it sad.gif )

Hi pacblue
With that system, you are looking at medium settings for FSX and Max for FS2004. If you want higher settings in FSX, you need to look at a better CPU (quad core)

Hope this helps

600ish for a decent retail (fan included etc) quad 2.66ghz area... allot less if you buy off trademe, just have a look around there and there are heaps with none/hardly any use...
Current PC - 3.2Ghz quadcore , GTX470, 750W PSU, 3.5tb, 12gb ddr3

woooooahhh! wayyyyyyyy less than that. wink.gif

$333 for the cheapest quad http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_info.p...oducts_id=13970
$453 for a good one http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_info.p...oducts_id=10305

Trademe is more expensive if you buy new. You could get lucky buying second hand, but they rarely sell for less than they are new.

Hmm...so my 2c is prolly a bit late then biggrin.gif

FWIW your spec (with dual core, not quad) is slightly better than my own PC - I have a dual core AMD CPU and a 9600GT rather than a 9800, plus only 2GB of ram - and I can run FSX at full settings and get 20fps in most places. Of course things like heaps of AI and really detailed scenery areas cause the stutters big time, but its fine for flying ocer, say the freeware Godzone NZPP

Dont even consider any thing but the Intel I7 Chip.......Overclockers dream. Do some reading about it. Go for the new gigabyte extreme Mobo...DDR3 Ram.
My thoughts only.
Cheers
Gordon.
