Should have asked , what are your PC spec's - RAM and Graphics card , and what do you design .

I run a high end designer computer and its nowhere anything what i need to run FSX on ,the cards that are needed are way different to a design computer that realy just needs to render on a network anyways ,mental rays rendering is about the high of all highs really with 3d max for me and i just run that like i said through a manger network hub ..
Flightsim is one of the most demanding programs i could use or anyone for that matter and it really all comes down to PC setup a power to run it smoothly ..

Captain sim is good at setting a bench mark and i congrats them on it ,other designers sometimes dont go so deep or just know how to do things alittle frame friendly ,we are all learning but these guys are truly at tha top of the game with products and dont just sell on behalf of other modellers and call thenm there company name ,with captain sim you can always be guaranteed that its at the same standard as the one before as its the same guys creating it ..

i really do see your point as its always in the back of my mind but others have made me take this all in and see the big picture i hope this gives you alittle more think about when it comes to buying a good product ...

The PC( SuperPC) actually has server component in it.
It has :
Two Quad Core Intel Xeon E5420 each at 2.5Ghz
36GB RAM
4x 2 TB Hard drive with hot swap feature
And I am moving from Single graphic card with 4 cores to Nvidia Telsa unit or CUDA.

This computer is being used for CAD Civil 3D, Maya and MathLab. And in some occasions is being used as test lab for different A.I components.

I do believe Flight simulator is demanding application but Microsoft could do a better coding and architecture of it so it runs smoother. However, developing such a program is a team of 100 people's job.

Please bare in mind that because a system is high end , it doesn't mean it can run any application or games smoothly, There are much more involved in a smooth processing than just a high end graphic card

Well yea biggrin.gif
But you only need 1/10th of that power to run FS with highest settings.
