Dog on the runway

Now this is a strange one. I love animals but I wouldn't even think about putting 33 lives to risk to save a dog. Anyway, nobody was hurt, but the aircraft....

PS. I'm not sure if the dog had anything to do with the loss of control...I believe it's just a coincidence.

I would say your right in saying that it was a coincidence, as it looks like the aircraft hits a pool of water and it starts to slide about which is after the dog crossed the runway.

Whilst looking at that clip, I spotted this one: here.

The nosegear hadn't retracted (and was stuck with the wheel at 90 deg to the flightpath). Note how gently the pilot brings the nose down after touchdown - then how straight he keeps it - even after the nosewheel has pretty well burnt out. Very professional!

It's all the camera angle I reckon. That plane was some distance away from the dog and the dog was long gone before the aircraft started skidding and went off the runway.
