Mid European airforces were also on the build up , with many countries having there own successful aero industry.. PZL of Poland

Others sourcing relative , well for the time , very advanced aircraft , The Greek Air force looking and window shopping

It dos,nt take long before other countries follow , 1938 the year was of hope , but the build up continued .

Typically the French standoff off building new airfeilds in the North-East .. holding back at the dismay of many designers and hopes for designs ,

Many types , at the time were pushing the limits , the Potez of France started to point a way ahead

October 14 1938 - The first flight of the Curtis XP-40, an aircraft that more than proved its worth in almost every theater of operations during the Second World War...
The XP-40 began life as the 10th production P-36 Hawk, albeit with the R-1830 Twin Wasp radial substituted for an Allison V-1710 V-12. Although power output was not increased, drag was reduced owing to the much smaller frontal area. An icon is born!

I could have posted the Do217 earlier Nick but i wanted to show you just how simple a well done model , It was for its time , this , a 2000/CBFS2 model would not look ideal , so with a little photo tweakin , enchance , tweak .. if your not happy its easy to try again from your source photo , maybe take one from the evening/dusk before tweaking , helps with the lighting .

The Hardest part with this thread is the history , getting the dates , in August for example there are two other Aviation important timeline dates , not specific to WWII , there could be others .

I agree with Ian here, the models are relatively easy to find... its a case of finding out the history, finding the dates and then putting them in the right order unsure.gif
The Heinkel I just posted is an old 2002/CFS2 bird, sure its not the prettiest, and its flight model is a challenge as far as putting it in the right place for a screenshot goes - but its the only He178 I've ever found for FS and it plays the part quite well even in FSX smile.gif
