Weekend at Ruapehu for $40

A forum for everything else that does not fit into the other categories

Seems a shame to waste this, so I'll throw it open to the group.

My extended family has booked a ski lodge at Whakapapa for the last weekend of the school holidays for a family and friends weekend - that's the weekend after this one coming up. Due to my immediate family being a bunch of warmth loving layabouts tongue.gif I ended up with a 4 bed room to myself. The usual boys (14) have grabbed two of the beds, I still have one bed free if anyone wants to come ?

Sounds like I'll have the 4x4 so transport (from north of Ruapehu) shouldn't be a problem. We're going down on Friday morning the 17th, and coming back on the Sunday afternoon.

Cost will be $40 if you're an adult, or $30 if you're a student, plus whatever you want to bring for snacks and stuff to drink (water / juice ...) Meals and Gas are taken care of. If you still qualify as "a kid" then the $30 can probably be taken care of too, I don't generally collect money for trips from kids smile.gif

We're a family-ish group so I suspect it'll be a largely non alcoholic weekend (although one of my nephews is a cop and he's bringing some mates, so who knows ...) We're not skiers, our snow toys are along the lines of sleds and tyre tubes and tarpaulins. And of course snowballs.

Remember you'll be sharing a room with two boisterous and slightly silly 14yo's so this would not suit someone who likes the quiet life.

Cheers
Gary

You'd think so wouldn't you, it's a completely free (apart from snacks) weekend away for a youngun ... But haven't had so much as a nibble, never mind a bite.

*shrug*

Wow, I thought it was bad when I couldn't give away trackside jobs at the Hamilton 400, but this is just silly.

Hopefully this foul weather will have passed over in another week - or at least it'll be cold enough for it to be falling as snow down to the Chateau level.
