It was a difficult secret to keep but has been a lot of work by many people to see this happen.
Will be great so see here and what an amazing WW2 fighter to have coming to Omaka.

The latest issue of Classic Wings magazine has revealed that Murray Miers, owner of the FW-190, has also bought the former Alpine Fighter Collection Spitfire XIV and that it too will be based at Omaka! Amazing news! Imagine THREE SPITFIRES at a Kiwi airshow!!!

Not sure how much longer the restoration will take, but the XIV is with AvSpecs at Ardmore and according to the article the boys will be back into it.

This 14 the ex Alpine Fighter Collection is extremely impressive , the 1995 VE day airshow at Wigram showed it true self from the position i was in viewed the 'power' , one wheel dropped in a rut along the tarseal runway during taxi , the engine was gunned to try and walk it out , only to see the entire airframe flexing under the grunt of the 2000 plus HP , throttled back , a bunch of AF guys run across the field to take the weight of wing and pushed it out .... course away she went .. One pretty 14

The XIV will be a year or two away from flying but will make an exciting edition to the NZ scene.
The Pup had a couple of engine runs yesterday so exciting times ahead.

It will be very nice to have these aircraft at Omaka.

Wow man! Basically nothing, and then all of a sudden Omaka is the home of half the warbirds in NZ!
Let the music be your master... Will you heed the master's call?
