Printing 1 to 1 scale

Hi all

Just wondering if its possible to print 1 to 1 scale using MS paint or any other graphics programme if the item that is been printed, is say a curved window centre line about 1.4m long.
I am looking at ways to help with my MD 500E simulator. I Want to get the curves of the windscreen strips to the right scale so I can start to cut out aluminium parts.

You won't do it with a bitmap (pixel) type paint package like MS Paint. You'll need to trace the outline using a *vector* outline - that's resolution/size independent.

If it's for a one-off, you could download a copy of Paint Shop Pro and do it within the 30 days' grace. Or search for some other vector-based graphics package that's gone into freeware ... something like an old version of Corel Draw.

A vector outline will scale to any size you like when you print it.

Id seriously look at getting Corel Draw , you can scale , has photo editing and many other pluggins and features , fonts to cliparts , an impressive program that i swear by ... the best idea to get a cheap copy 'brand new' is find somebody that has access to a Unversity/campus shop . You will never regret buying yourself a copy .

I have a free programme called pixia that I use for most of my graphics, I will have to see if it can handel "vector* outline - that's resolution/size independent"

Thanks Ian I will have a search on the net.

Thanks also Bandit I will give that a look.
I have been using an overhead projecter to project the images on to a wall in the garage and moving the projecter till I get the 1 to 1 scale, but its more of a pain when you go to tracing the outline.
