BBCode Insert link - Firefox 3.5 problem

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hi folks ... it may be any one of 150 extensions that I appear to find essential to my Firefox 3.5 .... but is anyone else here on 3.5 having problems with the "Insert Link" and "Insert Image" BBCode functions?

I enter it all as per usual - the pop-up disappears, but nothing appears in the main text edit area.

Works fine with Safari, Opera and IE.

Found a link to it here ... http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...showissue=16547 ... but they seem to think it's working ... well, it isn't for me!!

Hmm, I hadn't noticed, because I always copy/paste links, so they include the 'http://'. From a quick experiment, my links work ok without it, but images won't work unless I use http://. I do think that this has always worked that way, and the pre-loaded http:// kind of gives the impression that it is mandatory. Do you have trouble with links that include http://?

I've tried removing the "http://" that gets placed there ... no joy either. Worse - sometimes the pop-up even refuses to show. It seems a few failed attempts seem to stuff the pop-up altogether, so definitely something shonky there.

I'm fairly used to adding links/images and haven't changed the way I do them. This only happened after "upgrading" to Firefox 3.5. I've tried disabling as many non-essential FF extensions, but no luck. I may try from a clean FF to see what happens.

Update: I updated a pretty clean install of 3.5 (over an up-to-date 3.0.13) on my Vista PC. Everything works:

"Insert Link":
NZFSIM

"Insert Image":

"Insert Email":
Email Test

... so ... I can only presume that it's one of my gazillion extensions that's causing the problem sad.gif
