Animated figures for FSX?

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

I was reading the Aerosoft webpages and got sidetracked into having a look at the Bus Simulator that is soon to be released. I had a look at the demo. video, and I was very interested to see the animated people that are included.

This has got me wondering if these can be transferred across to FSX?? I seem to remember some talk before about the Poser Pro program, but this is very expensive. It would be fantastic to have animated 3D passengers in FSX so does anyone know if this is possible or is something that any developers are working on. Nearest that I have seen is a semi-animated passenger on the Connie, although it seems that the figures in the Bus Simulator are offering far more (like boarding the bus and offering money). It would be a huge increase in realism to have 'real' passengers in FSX as well.

smooth landings.

Yes you can have passengers built in to your models of course and there is a way through the mission building SDK to have them walk up ,board the plane in somewhat of a lame manner ,this can add weight and call a another model with passengers up .
From my time working with the mission tools this would be one hell of a job and wouldnt be worth the time and effort .

This type of thing really has to be hardwire into the program so the avatar has real walking dynamics ,with flight simulator everything as far as i know is a flying machine IE like a boat with a ten ton weight so it never takes off ,cars that slip around etc

i hope this answers your questions somewhat.

As for bus sim ive got a older copy of the software ,it is very boring and now is on the kids pc ,but i dont remember the last time i seen them play it ..

This was a major feature of Microsoft's new Train Simulator, which has been discontinued. It was pretty well accepted that Train Simulator was the early development platform for FS, so the next version of FS would share a lot of features.

There's an interesting article on animated people here. Imagine that at your airport...
As creator2003 said, to get this to work properly would be best done as a built-in feature in a new sim, but I suspect that somewhere someone is working on a whole bunch of 'real' people to populate FSX airports.
