FS crash in NZ

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hi All,

I figure if anybody is going to know this you guys are. I recently paid another visit to beautiful NZ as I have a lot of add-ons including all of Robin's FS9 add-ons. Last two times I was around the area of NZWR and my FS crashed both times as I was flying. I mean just bam,, CTD. I wish it would shut down that quickly when I wanted it to winkyy.gif I was going to just deactivate the add-on NZWR and live with that but was hoping that someone else may have had the issue and had found a cure.

Thanks,
LouP

Update: I just did a test flying around Wanaka and it happened there also. This does not happen to me anywhere else in the world. Hmmm, is my NZ scenery too much for my machine all of a sudden? My old machine is a PIV 2.8 gig with 1.5 G RAM using a XFX 7800GS video card.

Do you have any of Snowman's sceneries? I've found one of the objects he uses crashes my system (but no one else's).

This thread might be of help

Hi Dan,

Yes, I have almost all of his sceneries but I could not find a trace of that offending bgl file listed in the post you referenced. Very strange, I'll have to disable his scenery and add it back one by one sad.gif, which will mean I'll get through next year sometime lol. I have been having issues with his scenery from day one with textures not showing up and I can't seem to find the issue. I removed any duplicate textures that I had (weren't too many) but without knowing what the names are of the missing textures, it's very hard to track down the issue. I kept all the scenery regardless because when it works, it's some of the best work out there. This may all be related to the recent crashes, I don't know. All of my payware shows fine at least. Thanks for trying.

Lou , Welcome back to New Zealand , Thought , go to your saved flights , put them into a folder for safe keeping , this would make the FS revert to the default flight because your previous is missing . You should be able to start a flight from example Wanaka and maybe fly to Invercargill or to another scenery that crash's on you .

Thanks for the welcome back Ian. Just to make sure I understand, am I to removed ALL saved flights from the flights folder or just the folders that contain the previous flight. I have a gazillion saved flights from various add-ons.

Thanks again,

That,s a Confirm Lou , save all flights in an other folder , these you can reinstall but one is corrupt and causing the problem .
