Haven't posted here in a while. Here is a small selection of shots I took on Thursday after my flying lesson.

The usual... Dash-8 on finals.

I was enjoying trying close ups

Flaring over the runway

I was stoked to find this on finals!

I was further stoked when I saw it was a RAAF Herc. What disappointed me was that I looked away to check my camera and when I check on it, it turned out that the aircraft was doing a touch and go!

Great photos mate, your photography is really improving! I'll have to catch up with you next time im in WLG.

Just one suggestion though, with the prop aircraft, try setting the shutters speed a bit lower, so you blur the prop blades. Makes it look far more realistic.

Yeah I only realised that after I had taken the first shots of the dash-8. I was luck though with timing, I was only there for 20mins and was lucky with the traffic! (Especially the herc!)

Very nice pictures, having the houses appear so close and out of focus draws attention to the in-focus plane. Great stuff!

Strange to hear the difference between the C130J after 40 years of regular 130s , these sound like two ATRs bolted together .

There were twto RAAF Hercules flying from Woodbourne over three days lin the last week.
One was doing circuits the other night and sounded no louder than a 1900D

Great photos.

The RAAF Hercules have been here on nav exercises I believe, visiting numerous airports around the country, although I believe one of them has now gone to Samoa to help with the disaster relief there.

Wow Ian it's like you read my mind. As I looked at the Herc photos, I thought to myself 'I wonder what that sounds like?'. I guess it would be a bit like two ATRs bolted together!

Great shots! The close ups worked really well. You can just about see me inside those hangar doors in the last shot

Both Aussie Hercs are doing shuttle runs to and from Samoa from Ohakea.
3 Sqn had an Iroquois stripped down and ready to transport in a Herc in under 3 Hours. As well as all the pack up to support the aircraft and aircrew while they are in Samoa.
The first Iroquois left on Thursday afternoon, the second went late last night.
We were soooo lucky the Aussie Hercs were in country. I think we have about 2 hercs that are usable at the moment. All the rest are under heavy maintenance

Haha. Might see you sometime - you never know. I'm seemingly at the airport more often - Monday for my next lesson! Hoping the weather goes to plan.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.
