146 landing at Woodbourne

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Not 5 mins ago I heard an odd sound, turned and looked out the window, and if I'm not mistaken just caught a BAE 146 circling Renwick to land at Woodbourne. Another maint job for Safe Air perhaps??

Thanks for confirming that Gavin. On another note have you heard anything about a couple of Aussie Blackhawks and a Chinook coming over later this year? Mountain flying from NZWB I believe.

Was going to happen last year too, but got canned. Normally they go to PNG but last year, they were not given permission for some reason. Later they were given access so did go and we missed out.

they were looking at bringing over a couple of Kiowa's as well. They were originally going to flying into Ohakea then across to woody then into Dipflat for some mountain flying. But the cook strait scared the kiowa pilots (and the Aussies dont have immersion suits for cold water protection), so they were planning to fly into CHCH then fly up to Dipflat.
I think it was going to be called ANZAC ROTOR, but as Gavin has said its been cancelled for the year.
