The thing is, most people are biased for no reason. I voted yes simply because of the fact that the Airbuses are newer and the Boeings are getting a bit shabby. New stuff is cool

Exactly. Where's the 'Don't care, they're both pretty much the same thing' option? I just voted yes.

Bugger! I voted yes by mistake, so one of those yes votes should be a no. laugh.gif

No, I don't like their decision, but at the end of the day ANZ know better than me.

I personally would have liked to see them upgrade to newer 737s.

Does it really matter? They bought the A320's because apparently they are cheaper overall. I don't think anyone cares enough about flying in an A320 or a 737 to pay extra if the other is cheaper. I know I'm certainly going to take the cheapest flight, and as it is I think I find the A320 more comfortable anyway.

I went to OZ on a airbus a320 ,i thought the interior was nicer than the flights ive had on the boeing aircarft in the past ,kinda like a old school bus or a luxury tour bus is the difference for me ,the rest of the flight was good and i really like the use of the joysticks rather than a yoke ..
New is cool and id be happy to see airbus in our skys more ,they still have other carriers that use boeing so we wont miss out seeing them flying ..

I don't get what the big fuss is about this A vs B (not just this recent ANZ thing, but every A vs B discussion). They're both planes, they both fly and they both get to their destination. End of discussion.

Yes I am happy they are buying A320s, not because it's airbus, but because they're actually upgrading to newer aircraft. Lets face it, the 737s are getting a bit too old for the current time (greenies).

Well ... I'm going to be very politically incorrect and say that I voted A320 because I'm fed up of NZ being dominated by all things American laugh.gif

To qualify that - I don't think I've met an American yet that I haven't liked. I just hate their "culture" and most things the USA appears to stand for!! Not that the UK/Europe (or is that "yewp"?) is that much better. So I suppose my vote would go to the TB320H ... the Tibetan Hang Glider tongue.gif

Oh and those that are claiming that the Airbus is new...well so would the B737's that would have been bought.... ie. brand new....right off the production line, 0 flight hours sort of thing... whats this nonsense about the Boeing's being old and the Airbus new?? poo.gif smiliz2.png Oh and before you tell me the A320 is a newer design, the A320 went into service in 1988, and the Boeing 737-700/800 in 1998 (10 years later) rules.gif

Yes but the 737 origins go back nearly 50 years to the mid 60s.

I only "stopped over" a couple of times. But - yes - (as I said, I think) - they're great people, no question. I've had (and still have) some great American friends. Funny how you can love the people but hate the country laugh.gif

On reflection, I think ANZ should've bought the aircraft best simulated in MSFS, hahahaha! There again, we'd all be branded as potential terrorists ... grrrrr sad.gif
