Not really a contender for the screenie comp,............
I dont have time to set up screenies, and i was already working here on a scenery, so i dashed off this quickie.
Just my 2 cents worth on the Boeing / Airbus thing really,................ And a small history lesson,............

The small New Zealand City of Gisborne is famous for many firsts........

Its the FIRST place in New Zealand to see the sunrise each day,.........
Its airport is the ONLY one in the world to have a main trunk railway running accross an active main runway........
Its the place Captain James Cook made FIRST landfall in New Zealand in October 8th 1769,
And, 199 years later it was the FIRST place in New Zealand to see the National Airways Corporation's FIRST brand new Boeing 737-200, ZK-NAC.
ZK-NAC made landfall in New Zealand over Gisborne, after its long delivery flight from Boeing's plant in Seattle in the USA.
After a couple of low and slow passes over Gisborne City, it headed for its final destination,......... Wellington.

Great pic Lawrie .. cool.gif and damn pleased you joined the ranks off screen shot artists , I have only just come in from sitting outside enjoying the weather .. with 2 books , NAC and the other 'WITH GREAT FORESIGHT ' just simply enjoying the photos and a small read .

screen shot,.......... yeah. Artist,.......... Naaaahhhh. Just a spur of the moment quickie.........
Looking at the pic again now,............ YUK,..... wished i had spent the time to set it up properly with weather and other effects.
NAC book,........ i guess you'd be refferring to the masterpeice by Richard Waugh / Peter Layne / Graeme McConnell,............

Here is my Boeing Airbus
The Boeing Model 40 was Boeing's first airliner. The 40's first flight was on May 20, 1927. It was capable of carrying two passengers and 1200 lbs of mail.

my first aerodrome and approach ratings - GS tower

Ok,....... i'll do something ive never done before........
Enter the screenie comp......

It was a beautiful summers day, i was trucking along happily, in my trusty and reliable 'ole 732, looking out the cockpit windows and enjoying the view, when the sunlight glinting off the water caught my eye.
That looks nice i thought,................ so ,....snap,........... a quick pic "on-the-fly" so to speak.........

A thought came to mind as i took the pic,..............
"Lucky im not in an Airbus over all that water,.............. i forgot to pack my boat and outboard motor" laugh.gif

SEE LAWRIE ! you realy can do it .............. I do wonder last night while installing programs i was running the 'History of the 737' in New Zealand ... only thing missing .... the famous NAC dancing girls

Well,.......... i didnt set it up,........ just on the spur of the moment type thing,......... didnt look too bad though i thought for an on-the-fly quickie.
Nearly missed it though, in the time it took me to "step out" of the cockpit into spot view............
Believe it or not, somewhere i do have a video clip of the full TV add of the marching girls and the NAC B732 at NZCH.
Thats funny,.......... yesterday i watched "The Boeing 737, 25 years in New Zealand". Its 1 of 4 NZ aviation doco's i have
on a 2-DVD set called "Pioneering Aviation in New Zealand".

Hmmm, note to self,........... look into animated NAC marching girl scenery for FS9,..................
Wouldnt that be a blast, a re-creation of the TV add for FlightSim ... !! thumbup1.gif

Really are trusty and reliable old machines the 732s,............ amazing how many ex-NAC 732s are still flying today in various parts of the world.
Good on ya Mr Boeing !! Ya knew how to build a REAL aeroplane !!

One of my fav short flights that is in FS,........... NZCH to NZQN in a 732 !!

I'd agree with that Jase,........... I have a number of the professionally produced ITVV DVDs with cockpit flights of various Boeings and other aircraft around the world, and the quality of the filming in the cockpit is far superior in the NZCH to NZQN B732 flight.
