Airline Flying club

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby krispilot » Sat Nov 07, 2009 8:12 pm

Hi

Was having a look at doing my PPL with airline flying club or ardmore, auckland aero club etc. Was wondering if anyone had done their training there and if anyone had done so what did you think about it?
Cheers

Is there anything stopping you from leaving Auckland to do your training? What sort of career in aviation are you after?

If you are feeling brave, go join www.pprune.org - there is a NZ section there. My suggestion is SEARCH and READ before you start talking. Also take everything with a grain of salt. I have my ideas about where I'd do my training and it's not at Ardmore, CTC, IAACNZ, Bayflight or NAC. It is however government funded, run out of a busy (at times) regional airport, has good access to veteran pilots both military and commercial, and has a good environment for fostering good pilots. You'll probably figure it out by looking through pprune if you're smart smile.gif

Bit of a thread highjack, but are you both looking to start next year? If so, hopefully I'll be there on staff smile.gif

Whoops, I forgot about Massey - it's not there either. However, if it is possible to do both Psychology and Aviation concurrently then they will go to the top of my list.

At the moment it's looking like a particular aero club (through NMIT), and finishing my psychology degree extramurally at the same time.

Just asking (Not to be rude or anything like that) are you thinking of goingto Massey because of the dregree you get afterwards?

lol al gud,
if I was to go to massey it would be mainly for the 'uni experience' which would be really fun, its the only uni based av school in nz and I do really want to experience the uni life. The degree is a degree, im sure it would help me in a future aviation courier, but if it helps me more or less than what other aviation schools offer, I dont know, and is exactly why im checking out other schools like ctc
