Portrait of NZ...

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

I've been thinking of ways to promote the sim in portrait orientation, for posters etc. Normally to get an upright screenshot, you'd need to crop your screenshot, but since most modern graphics cards can rotate the display, it is possible to get a portrait screenshot using the full resolution. You just rotate the display, put FSX (or FS2004) into maximised window mode, and take a screenshot. Here's a 1050x1680 screenshot to illustrate. FSX even crops off the title bar when you press 'V'.

This shows Timmo's upcoming topo scenery. Now these are freakily good alps.

'Now these are freakily good alps' .. CRIPES ! ... that may be a slight understatement , im guessing the 'Harihari' region , see a shot like that in a shop ,you would want to try it out on your PC , an example worked for me , in a PC shop and on the wall was a screen shot looking down runway 29 at Christchurch towards Banks Peninsular , this was for FS98 and back then it was the best you could get ! the mesh and screen was produced by the father off New Zealand flight sim scenery design , Phillip Middlemiss .

The reality is Orbx know Australia, and have done a fabulous job there. They no doubt are getting to know the US just as well, as that's where the market is.

However New Zealanders know New Zealand. Timmo certainly knows New Zealand:
