I just want to take a moment to share some shots of one of my favorite aircraft, the DeHavilland Comet 1. This particular one is the infamous G-ALYP (Yoke Peter). The Comet was the Concorde of her day, a technological marvel that cut trip times in half compared to peers such as the Constellation, Stratocruiser, and DC-6, and was the pride of England. British Overseas Airways Corp. used the Comet on a variety of long range flights spanning the globe. Tragically, a series of accidents due to explosive decompression kept the Comet from being the class leader that DeHavilland had hoped it would be and allowed rival Boeing to take the lead in jet airliners. One thing I've noticed (and that took me a while to get used to) was the fact that unlike modern airliners, the Comet takes a LOT of skill to keep at max performance and climb - not to mention on course LOL.

This particular one is freeware and available on FlightSim.com, file name comet_v1.zip. It comes with a pretty good 2D panel and working VC, along with a very nice soundset to represent the 4 Rolls-Royce Ghost turbojet engines.

I agree nice AC. Dont have this one will check out. Been working on a classic mod for fs9 using golden wings as the base and putting together all the International scenery from the 1940-60s era. Currently making classic NZ scenery just finished Palmerston Nrth and starting on Queenstown. Lots of grass runways. biggrin.gif
Im hoping to redo Auckland Int in the alternative airport that should of been originally built.
