Well Done Guys!

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Naki » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:57 pm

Just a quick note to congratulate the effort that went into the NZFF tent and those that manned it most of the weekend, particularly Timmo, Creator, Robin, Kahuproject and Ian ! clapping.gif

I must apologise that I couldn't spend all my time there and I wasn't much help putting the whole thing togther - family commtiments didn't really let me but Timmo and Creator had the whole thing under control anyway.

Yep found him way over the other side of the airfield talking to 767 pilot (his old instructor) next to a jet powered (!!!) Long Eze homebuilt with a supposedly 1:1 thrust to weight ratio ....I have some photos of this..I wil post them when I get a chance.

Wondered if Daniel would turn up..good on him in getting you guys a feed.

Sausage rolls! Where was I!? haha

The weekend was definitely a success I believe- As well as the 'usual' demographic I think we attracted at least a few new people into flight simulation- We even had some interest from the Hastings flying club as to how FSX could be used to train their pilots on the use of the G1000.

Robin- Thanks so much for funding this whole endeavour. Without your support I'm sure this forum would be in a far worse position
Creator/Mike- The banners and posters made us look like a professional group of enthusiasts and your gift of the gab throughout the day kept people interested.
Kahu/Gavin- Thanks heaps for your help and use of the couch and shelf units. It was good to have you there.
Ian- Always awesome to have your enthusiasm and knowledge around as well as your artistic skills!

For all those that dropped in, thanks heaps- It was good to meet you all!

Now for some pics- Not really any of the planes but a couple of the tent for those who are interested. I also whipped the tent up and placed it in Robins updated scenery (which is freakin amazing as usual!)

Also a few shots from the autopilot flight I set up on the saturday- This shows some high altitude renderings of the VLC project which generated good interest.

Surprised to see me (striped shirt) and wife talking to Naki ,featuring in sneaky photos 3 and 4 as I picked up my Tauranga upgrade.

Was great to put some faces to names, a thoroughly enjoyable two days. Thanks to the main players for their work and support for the Forum.

Congrates and a great effort team.

Looks better than many of the commercial efforts I've seen over the years at various events.

Unfortunately I couldn't get to Tauranga but looks like it was a great time.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

Hi Guys
It looks as though it was a great day for NZFF in Tauranga and a fantastic team effort to get it all together so well.
I am really sorry that I was not able to make the trip down from Snells Beach due to family commitments involving ferrying visitors to and from Auckland airport (the closest I got to any flying!)
The photos are great and Timmo's vector landclass is looking great. I would have enjoyed the chance to see the beta running.
As an aside Timmo, any projection on a possible release date?
Well done to all involved and I am sure this all helps to keep our great hobby thriving.
Cheers
Mike
