Whanganui River stumpy

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Transit » Wed Feb 24, 2010 9:25 am

Flying from my home airport is pretty sad ...
The Whanganui River stops abruptly 5 mile upstream
It's a wonder the Iwi aren't offended !

I have the Red Baron mesh, is there something else I need to fix the river ?
Maybe I have to spend money ? ohmy.gif
Anyone try this Roads and Rivers of NZ package?
Is it worth it ?

I see the Buller has a few issues too.
I suppose I'm spoiled by Google Earth these days smile.gif

cheers for any clues

What's your local airport? I have R&R so will do a checkflight and grab a few screenies.

It's not too expensive and adds *loads* of stuff - really changing the landscape a lot. I love it - though can't tell how accurate it is.

Are you using FSX or FS2004?

I'm in FSX ... and just flew up river from NZWU laugh.gif for a *long* way. The [Roads & Rivers] scenery was breathtaking. The river went on and on and on ....

I'll put up some screenies tomorrow smile.gif

I have all of Rob's excellent payware sceneries, plus the freeware Red Baron NZ Topo, NZ Mesh and NZ landclass. Then add Roads & Rivers (payware). Here are the promised pics (gotta love that Warbirds DC-3!):

Looks like I need to upgrade a bit !

Transit , the water-race way has been an issue for some time , again i,m hoping Tim may post some screens off his project for this area , i,m very sure it covers the roads and rivers with a detail to match .

Glad you mentioned that. When I saw it, I thought it rang a bell somewhere. I've seen them like that it other areas as well, I think.

I've had a lot of pleasure out of my FSX, I must say ... BUT ... I often see stunning screenshots here on NZFF from FS9, reminding me that my FS9 system (before it barfed) wasn't too bad at all. The problem about the upgrade to FSX is that it may mean a hardware upgrade as well ... so it gets kinda expensive just for the sake of a bit of improved eye-candy.

I have it too.

In FSX there are a few small issues like the coastlines etc. But still a joy to fly over smile.gif
