Heliworks is a Queenstown based commercial helicopter operator. Great pics but you seem to have confused the Warkworth based Skywork Helicopters with
Heliworks, a different company.

I've flown in the Skyworks chopper (one of them anyway) it was a lot of fun,
Roger, the owner of Skyworks, took us for a 'rollercoaster in the sky' experience, a ton of fun biggrin.gif
Great pictures btw, I never knew other choppers besides Westpac Rescue were based at NZMB.

Im not sure if they still have it but the 'cops' aka Airwork used to have a H500 aswell, hardly ever saw it, in fact I only ever saw it once and I got threatened by a staff member after taking the photo. angry.gif

Heres a question.
The police Helicopter crew is made up of 2 x sworn police officers
and 1 civillan pilot
Does anyone know if the Police Chopper Pilots are employed by NZ Police as a civillan or a Helicopter company EG Airwork, Helicopters NZ?

just caught up with this thread again.

@ nzav8tor you are quite right I did get them mixed up it is the skyworks chopper.

@ krispilot you are correct about the crew. From what I know the pilots are employed through helilink so they are separate from the police, apart from the fact they fly a police helicopter

And Is Helilink a company of airwork? So if i was a police helicopter pilot i would be employed by Helilink not airwork eh.
(Please excuse my poor knowledge of this matter) rolleyes.gif
Thanks Kris

Kris from what I believe airworks is the company the helicopters are leased from and helilink is the company that operates them.
