Sorry about sounding off on the "nz aviation" page, on a happier note......Ive just finished a day of drafting cattle, tagging, and Im ready for a beer or 3.
Im up here in the middle of nowhere....well not really, only 90km from CHC as the magpie flys ........what a spot.(next door neighbour is 4km away)
Thought i would miss the airport visits etc, but its busy here....saw a nice huges 500 and C-185 in formation this morning, couple of R-22's and a C-130 low level down the gorge (Ours i think).
Havent had time to post any pics (stumpys).....internet up here is a bit strange (not dail up, or broadband) but theres a big dish on the roof, so i guess it comes from a satellite, whatever, it makes photobucket real slow.

Anyway, heres a couple of the location.......Im back in the smoke on monday......

Cheers

Paul, your part of the counrty is just as nice.......your right about the wide rivers (braided rivers) thats the Waimak....when its in full flood , its bank to bank....awesome to see. At the moment its real low....but full of salmon. Had a chance to take a peek today , and saw about 6 good size fish heading up stream.
Im going to miss it when i head back down on monday.
Sorry, but Im not sure what went wrong with that 3rd pic.......not showing up on my computer.

Thanks for looking , have a good weekend.

You sure could, just have to watch the wind coming down the river. The guy who owns the place has a mate with a cub, ZK BX something (Fred Bull) he often "pops in", and theres a small strip (garvel) down on the rivers edge.
Cant get over the traffic around here, lots of robbies over the river somewhere, and a lot of the inbound internationals pass right over on their way to chc....spotted SQ the other morning.

Trolly, if you are ever down, just contact me....Im up here a few weeks every year, and the folks who own it are really great. The house is a monster, i need a GPS to get around. As far as the farm work is concerned, they know my limitations, and time their holidays and breaks to work in with low work periods.

Cheers
