Saitek multi panel error msg :( *reward offered!*

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby pacblue » Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:51 pm

Hey all, i seem to be the most computer illiterate person in the whole of NZ but i am having a new problem this week. i have just recently purchased the saitek multi panel for fs9 and i love it apart from 1 thing, every 10 mins or so of flying when i put in a alt or hdg change an error msg comes up reading "Saipanels module has encountered a problem and needs to close" and thereafter it will not work untill i re launch the plug in for fs9. and sure enough 10 mins or so later it happens again, and eventully slows my fps down to around 1 or 2... sad.gif has anyone encountered a problem similar or know of what it will take to fix this problem?

Tune in next week for my next tech problem that i cant work out,

oh and also for anyone in the Wellington area if you are able to tell me how to fix this i am offering a free scenic flight around wellington.

Cheers guys!

32 or 64 bit?
I'm guessing 32

Click the start menu, right click '(My) Computer' and click properties.
Have a look, it should say somewhere either 32 or 64

Try download these new drivers and have another go.

They are official from the Saitek website

I am pretty confident that the problem is that the USB port doesnt have enough power to power it, (i also have yoke, throttle, wireless internet, keyboard, mouse amd switch panel plugged into various usb ports) but they are all rather important, my question now is, is there any way to boost the power for the usb ports?

Not sure if that's the problem or not

Edit: Is that the exact message that appears on the screen?

No, well if you have a spare 50 bucks I supposes it's worth a try, considering what you paid you the unit itself.

You could always try ask in the Saitek support forums?

try disconnecting every usb device attached, then connect the panel, see if it works, if it does add the usb devises one at a time and see if there is a confilict, i seem to remember reading some where that some other usb devices can cause issues, and for some strange reason i am thinking that they only really like USB 2.0, (could be wrong one that one)
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
