Graphics card advise

Im thinking of upgrading my graphics card, and really have no idea about what will work with my system. Dont want to spend a fortune....i spotted a nice one the other day, turned out to be $690..... I only paid $500 for my car!! (its worth at least $200)
Most of the stuff Ive seen is PCI, but im sure my card is AGP (Radeon x1650, 512mb)

My system is average: Win XP Sp3, 2.66 celeron D, 2gbRam. I dont think the motherboard has a PCI slot (Asus P5VDC-MX)
Seems that if i want anything bigger, its going to mean a new mother board......

I'm in the same boat mate. My board is an ATi x1650 AGP, and whilst it runs ok the PC is beyond its use by date really (not to mention the RAM ... DDR) where as you really need PCIe as you get better cards and they are cheaper.

If you upgrade your mobo, you'll also change your RAM, probably your HDD (if like mine it's an old IDE one), power supply to run it all better and probably your case too, so really you're looking at a new box with all the bits in it. Re-use your keyboard, DVD and monitor and probably your soundcard but ultimately it's "upgrade more than just your graphics time"

Or, if you're like me ... it's "make the most of the old girl coz upgrading is out of the question"

Thanks ZK......YEAH, Im like you.....hang on to the old girl and wait for Lotto. I mean , i still get to fly, and use fsx....its just addons like , any of the captainsim stuff....and Im in a slide show.
MAT, If i have a win, I'll upgrade us both....to the Max.
