Agreed ... ***amazing*** pic!! Hard to believe it's from a sim.
Apart from the monthly banner competition, do we have (have we ever had) a vote for the best monthly screenshot(s)? No prizes - just a vote?
The banner competition is a different thing altogether. Also, banner pics need to fit into a very narrow letter-box format. Just a "no holds barred" vote would allow shots like the above to be seen in all their glory.
Without knowing how much work this might entail (for an already overloaded mod [Rob??]) I'd like to suggest:
1) One new topic/vote per month.
2) Editing allowed - but all material has to come from within MSFS itself (ie. no copying areas from "real" pics).
3) No restriction on subject matter.
4) Each entry should include info about: FS Version, add-ons used and [optionally] how any effects were achieved.
Probably a bit of an old "chestnut" but has this been done on NZFF before?
Just a thought ... some forum systems allow a "rate this thread" or a "give thanks" function. Could this be adapted for screenshot voting? ie. Users could vote for more than one pic/post (but only once per pic/post)? As the thread develops, the pics gradually collect votes .... so no need to actually set up a vote - just announce the highest score <???>.
