IP Problem

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby Kelburn » Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:28 pm

I was trying to do IP multiplayer with a mate (nostalgic and such haven't done it in ages).

Used the inspire teamspeak (worked fine).

We tried to use the inspire ip address as shown in this sub-forum but encountered this problem.

My mate connected fine and then when I tried to connect I got the message "error not all players were able to connect" etc.

Then he disconnected and I connected (and all worked fine) then when he tried to connect after me he got the same message.

I then used FS Host Spy and I connected to a session that had other users and I connected fine and the other users names showed up (though they were all on other sides of the FS globe). My friend tried to connect to the server I was on (we tried about three different ones) and he got the same message as before.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

We used to have this problem on every big event held by nzff in the day ,there was no fix apart from finding one of thousands of other servers that host and should work for you both ...

The problem with FS Host is that all players need to have the particular ports open to allow the transmitting and receiving of data freely between them all. If one player hasn't then it will prevent any further people joining, although they may be able to join ok. Based on what you are saying I'd guess your friend needs to check his settings.

From the FS Host FAQ page here

Players connecting to your FSHost session: if a player connecting to your session is using a router, that player will also need to configure it to forward the same ports you're forwarding. For example, if you're forwarding UDP 23456 to your FSHost machine, he'll need to do the same and forward the same port from his router to his FS machine. If he doesn't, then other players connecting to the session after he does may get the error, "Unable to connect to all players", because they're not able to connect to him properly. See the section What is the error "Unable to connect to all players"? on the FAQ page for more info.

It's a bit hit and miss with FS Host, good luck!

hmmm.
No avail last night.
What issue could it be.
I can connect to a server with other people but he can't but when he went onto an empty server it worked fine when another player (not me) joined while he was on...

This is a well known problem with the code of MSFS that has been there since FS2002.

There is a fix. I posted a link to all of the relevant information required to solve this problem above in the Multiplayer for Dummies Sticky.

This is a 100% guaranteed fix, provided you AND your friend both do it. Several of us, have used this and have not had any problems at all, in quite some time now.

The hardest part to solving this issue, is getting the people you fly with in this manner, to actually sit and take the time to perform the fix.

If just one person doesn't do it, they can mess it up for every one. who is trying to join the session, or is already on.
