Pretty cool loking chopper if you ask me.......

Couldn't find anything closer than Alan Devins' A109A, and here it is:

If a closer model doesn't surface, I'll have to paint the other side as well!

There seems to be an RAF roundel on the photos, but on the model, there's a nav light that looks like a roundel!
There's also a closer Devins model, with a minimal ventral fin.
I painted the first one that came to hand - there's so little on there, I took the plunge.
Then discovered the texture mapping is different for each model.
Be good to get an updated model including an LUH, for one of the FS artists to dress up.

The nav light/roundel (red spot on each side of the aircraft) is actually refuelling points. Pressure refuelling on one side and gravity on the other. They are currently painted red as per Euro regulations.
The refuelling points will probably be repainted black when we get them nback to NZ

The A109's dont have the Squadron Crest on them either, not sure why not.

Thanks, Trev.
Looks a bit better in black I feel.
Maybe they'll get Squadron emblems when the airframes are assigned?
I'll just leave it on otherwise there's nothing to look at!

I'm liking the model more as I play with it in the sim, fully articulating main and tail rotors etc.
I'll press it into service as AI in any event...

you're gonna have to do something about those leather seats! Can't be having the troops being too comfortable or they want want to leave the helo!

I've thought about this, and found the reason for the RNZAF buying this helicopter as a trainer.
For years the Brass have had to sit in the back of an Iroquois, being carted between airshows.
It's payback time...
Also, the seats are quick-release, and can be converted to carry boxes of Scotch, within 15 minutes.

Heh thank you...I hope we'll hear from you about this helo in due course!
Meantime, there is a carbonfibre lookalike retrofit available too, to forestall any criticism.

And now I'll retire quietly from the contest...

Yes!
There's been something of an avalanche in the last while: payware now freeware, re-releases missed prior, and some new gems...
I have 27 zipfiles awaiting my attention!

Actually that's what started the Augusta thought:
The Italians don't mess around, they just call it a VIP transport, and cruise off reading Le Figaro on kid leather seats - wait - that's a Pizza Menu winkyy.gif
