water wake effects

Hey all, I have been repainting the Short Hythe for FSX into RNZAF colours (look in the screenshots forum ) but cannot for the life of me get the water wake to appear. I have the water splash effects woking nicely though. I have checked the aircraft.cfg and the appropriate "wake=fx_wake" entry is there.... baffled wacko.gif

Hi ya Chappie , I installed the Short Hythe for FSX , I do have wake on the water and the somewhat limited spray , i dont get anything from the floats ... a paint would not affect the animation ? a change in texture cause the affect not to work or show .

When i run the Model in DX10 , all external textures do not appear , its one Great White Flying Boat .

Ian I will try it in DX10 with the ADDON CONVERTER X and see how it looks

In DX10 with the ADDON CONVERTER X all external textures are showing and wake on the water is ok but bow spray almost none existent maybe it needs a fix to get the bow spray

ah well i messed with the float points didnt i blink.gif ,..have added the float points as well as bow and keel points because by default there were just three points,..nose, and rear left/right like landing gear points which made it handle wrong on the water,..might try adding back in the original points maybe as well....

Put the original float points back in and still no joy blink.gif

There was a enhancement done for the default Goose , now were to find that again , maybe SOH , i wonder if that could also be used to show or increase the effect . ? this also included the w/tip floats , i go for a search later this morn .

Yep thats what im using ,.the upgraded effects are superb as you can see in my sunderland screenshots thumbup1.gif
