• Advanced Cadet Programme (3 months): Successful candidates will hold a commercial
pilots licence which is the basic qualification for all professional pilots;
when you look at the JS website: JS Cadet Programme
This program is available to pilots who hold a Commercial Pilots Licence, AND Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating and have completed ATPL subjects
....so slightly more than the stated "candidates will hold a commercial pilots licence" then!!!
You're not eligible if you're an NZ Permanent Resident either.
Hercfeend Looks to have minor difference Between the CTC and Oxford entry requirements although you are correct a bit more than just a CPL Required:
CTC Requirements
hold a current CASA or CAANZ CPL and all ATPL theory credits
hold a current CASA or CAANZ Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
have a minimum of 250 hours
have either Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency status

Expanding Jetstar in pilot-training move
By FELICITY WOLFE - Waikato Times
At yesterday's Hamilton launch of its cadet pilot training programme at CTC Aviation, budget airline Jetstar announced it would add a new A320 to its New Zealand fleet.
The additional A320 was expected to create about 50 new jobs in New Zealand but it had not been assigned to any routes yet.
CTC chief executive Ian Calvert said the pilot-training programme would ''throw a cat among the pigeons'' in New Zealand. Pilots here usually spent about $80,000 on training, then years climbing a career ladder through general aviation to flying for small airlines such as Eagle Air before being picked up by larger airlines. ''The cadets will be first officers within 18 months . . . not the 10 years it normally takes,'' he said.
There was expected to be a global shortage of pilots within seven years. Jetstar had been thinking ahead in introducing the programme, he said.
CTC was also offering the first intake of students free accommodation, saving them about $8000 in costs. ''Jetstar has already increased its intake numbers and we tried to think of something we could do to show our support,'' Mr Calvert said.
CTC trainees Sam Butler of Hamilton and Scott Vincent of Auckland had applied for positions in the threemonth cadetship for those who already held commercial pilots' licences. ''You miss out on eight years of hardship,'' Mr Vincent said

Jetstar offers free pilot training, guaranteed job
Trainee pilots don't need any flying experience

If you’ve ever dreamed of getting your pilot’s licence, but don’t have a huge amount of spare cash – how does a free 18-month pilot training course sound?
You don’t need any flying experience to begin with and you’re guaranteed a job as a first officer on a commercial A320 once you finish.

' Have you ever notice that the experts who decree that the age of the pilot is over are people who have never flown anything? In spite of the intensity of their feelings that the pilot's day is over I know of no expert who has volunteered to be a passenger in a non-piloted aircraft..'
