Whats your favorite GA addon?

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby madaz » Sat Aug 14, 2010 4:21 pm

Im want buy some additional GA aircraft suitable for take offs and landings in most of NZ's air fields.

My favorite's for FS9 are Realair Simulations Marchetti F-260 and Spitfire (now up for sale)and for FSX the Realair Simulations Beech Duke B60. All these A/C have realistic flight dynamics and gauge resolutions so incredibly real they are a real hard act to follow. But am alway open to other suggestions so please tell us what you have purchased lately and why you like it?

Plenty still do. Some do FS9 only still, some will release something with FS9 and X compatibility, and some X only. I don't fly enough X to suggest anything for you so I'll shut up now laugh.gif tongue.gif

I started this obsession in late 95 on FS95 and have had every ver to FSX, always been a bit slow myself to migrate to each new version, and usually wait at least 3 years before moving on, stayed on FS2002 untill 2007!! its always a bit hard to move on when you invest so much $$ into each version. Which usually required a PC upgrade as well, I hate to think of how much I spent on FS2004, Thought I was the last FS9er left standing late last year. Obviously not smile.gif

No - there's still a few of us out there!!

- My favourite "rough field" aircraft is simply a repainted version of the default C208. The Wilco/Feelthere version is great, but is a bit of a framerate hog.
- For twins, you can't beat the Carenado PA34T Seneca II.

Getting away from GA, I fly the PMDG B190, Flight1 ATR and PMDG 737-600/700. If I throw in REX FS9 and Reality XP and ISG1 gauges and I find I've got a sim that is still worth attention!!

Cheers,
Mat

Can't go wrong with Carenado aircraft ..the newer stuff is better - such as the Bonanza F33 and the Cessna 185 (both which I have). They are also bringing out a Cessna Caravan soon. My favourite GA aircaft though in FSX is the Sibwings Cessna Bird Dog.
