A brute indeed....they used to chew through their small amounts of gas pretty quick too.

As an aside, did anyone else as a kid think that the intake shock cone spun around/was attached to the turbine?

Nope: It simply serves as a way to split supersonic airflow before the 'sh*t hits the fan' so to speak winkyy.gif On the Mig 21, the cone moves forward and back depending on IAS/Mach. On other aircraft the cone is fixed.

Yeah , Im going all eastern bloc at the moment....so many strange and interesting aircraft.....and some really good sim sites as well......found this little fella as well.............

In the readme part of the file, they said that this aircraft carried 2 skydivers up to 12350 meters, in the bomb bay and dropped them.....didnt say if the made it all the way down in one piece.
That aircraft varied from the normal one, with 2 rockets mounted on the underside.......crazy russians....love them thumbup1.gif ( The aircraft was checkoslovakian , sorry , but russian built)

Nice shots, seems to be about 90% engine and not much else, but probably as strong as an ox and a mean machine. Pity that we cannot have the sound with the screenshot, it should make a great noise judging by the size of the engine. Odd thing but when I see 152 I automatically associate it with Cessna.

If anybody is interested (and who is not!!!) then there is a company in Sydney offering flights in a MiG 15. Great experience which you will never forget, and you will gain a huge respect for the MiG aircraft after flying in one. Lucky that I did it before the oil prices went up. The website is:-

http://www.aircombat.com.au/

good to see some unusual aircraft appearing in the screenshots.

smooth landings.
