What would your preference be? Seeing one messerschmitt or 4 l-39 and 2. vampires and a venom displaying?

One Messerschmit (109 I presume?)..would have to be Daimler engined one...love the sound.

Like the looks of a L-39 and the sound of Venom/Vampire but a Messerschmit would be greater attraction at an airshow for me because of its rarity and did I say sound?

Yes, count me in for the ME109 crowd - so long as it's a "genuine" 109, & not one of those Spanish-built rip-off copies that they used in the Battle of Britain movie from last century...

Ok, variation to the question given we are all hardcore aviation enthusiasts, what would the general public like to see for their money, Lots of noisy jets or 1 aircraft( will check if DB or merlin), given cost $85000 + to ship from Europe so would be either one or the others, not both

If its a DB Bf-109 (whether its a re-engined Spanish one or not) would rather see that - if Merlin powered (dosen't look right and can hear the mighty Merlin on the right aircaft such as a Spitfire/Mustang/Hurricane) rather have lots of jets in whatever form.

Is this a question for the Wanaka organisers?

Unfortunately, the plebs will always go with quantity over quality. If the focus of the reason for bringing the aircraft here is Joe / Jane Public, then I suppose you have to go with qty. But I'd prefer a decent signature warbird over some also-rans any day. And yes, even if I have to put up with it being a Spanish knock-off. tongue.gif

What about the 16 Spitfires in formation at Duxford a few days back, now that's quantity and quality... ohmy.gif

Should have said hypothetical question, someone I know asked me what I'd like to see as a preference, given the time it takes to plan events these days, and no guarantees with old aircraft. Wish list?

Steve , I questioned the crew off 'Connie' during the Avalon Airshow few years back bringing it to Wanaka , mention the cost would be over the top to fly the distance cost per passenger would have been 1,800 at the least and that,s if it rated to cross Tasman PAX flying .
