Welcome to the NZFF Screenshot Competition for September2010.

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be at least 1024 pixels wide, and no wider than 1280 pixels -- this is a change from previously, so take note! Read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high resolution version saved on your computer; the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert into a site banner!

3) Images can be submitted from September 6th to September 30th 2010, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission before the closing date if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by using the edit button at the bottom of your post. Please don't post saying you have edited your original entry, as this creates unnecessary clutter).

4) Soon after the competition ends, a poll will open to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the prize the adulation of the forum!

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

6) This month's theme:

On Saturday 4th September, nobody in Canterbury needed to be reminded that we live in a geologically active part of the world, specifically the Pacific 'Ring of Fire'. Like many locals, I'm struggling to comprehend what happened on Saturday.

But it did make me think that many of the things which make New Zealand such an interesting place to live, and visit, are a direct result of this lively geological activity. So this month we'll celebrate this. The Alps, the volcanic plateau, Mt Taranaki and Banks Peninsula are just some amazing features we have because of this geological activity, so this month we are looking for screenshots showing the landscape created by this.

This month we have a prize -- Tim Barnes has offered a copy of Vector Land Class to the winner. The winner will therefore receive a boxed copy.

Just to clarify, anything that shows the volcanic uplift of the mountains or the volcanic activity of NZ are the guidelines?

Cheers

A shot showing that would be fine...ie the Southern Alps
