A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Firstly, thanks for the warm welcome in the introduce yourself thread. smile.gif

I've found some good sites for info on flying the DC-3 that have been very helpful, but not much about using the radio and ADF, does anybody know of any links??

You're right Adamski those warbird repaints are awesome. I did notice though the numbers on the port side of the tail on the RNZAF one are back to front??

I'm a naughty old cheat... rolleyes.gif .....

I cant get my head around those old-fashioned Radios for NAV/COM use, so I replace them with the drop-down Bendix-King Radio Stack from the default Beech Baron 58 Twin....

...sorted.... biggrin.gif ...!

Maybe, stick a VOR/ADF Gauge in the Panel, to suit... thumbup1.gif ...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Navigator... cool.gif ...!

(I told you I cheat!)... laugh.gif ...!

The radios are ok, I just can't wrap my head around the old fashioned compasses and artificial horizons - that (and the autopilot) is the first thing I replace. Then throw in a nice VOR receiver ... smile.gif

Have you tried DC3 Airways for more info ? There's loads of stuff in their 'tech' menu ...

Sounds like a good practical solution, but I think i'll keep on with the trial and error for now, there's something I like about those old sets.

Yeah I've seen that DC-3 Airways site, very informative, cheers for that, can't seem to find much about the radios though.

Thanks for the replies, and cheers for that fix Ian.

Finally got some sound outa that radio. feel a bit silly really, although the sim sounds were working fine, I couldn't get any sound outa the radio until I put my headphones in. icon_redface.gif The audio setup on my

computer is where I should have been looking.

Oh well ya live and learn. Next the ADF.
