wow ..the pic looks like its from FSX or FS9...my original thought was that this would be fleet wide and its the new livery but looks like its a one off for the World Cup

My first thought is how stereotypical can you get? *yawn.
I am not a rugby fan and dislike the way rugby finds it's way into everything.. tongue.gif

Oh well, maybe I'll change my opinion when the real thing turns up. Thanks for the link.

hmm interesting- The video looks very much like FSX but I can't place it anywhere over NZ?

So come on- Who is reponsible for this!? I think it's really exciting that flightsim is being used in this way! (i.e. for product visualisation)

I'm glad it's not fleet wide...not really liking it, but it might look way cooler in RL

I vote FSX with default scenery - sunset (rise?) at the end looks to "good" to be FS9. I'm not into rugby in the slightest (sorry rugby fans - has about as much appeal to me as watching paint dry), and I think the livery is both bold and boring at the same time. tongue.gif

Seriously though, what a cr@p advertisement. Pretty average paintscheme, looks like it was made in MS Paint or something, and the default blurry scenery and bog standard view and pan shots were painful to watch, not to mention the lack of VLC in the background!. I could have done better with FS9 and a photoshop template!

Ummmm WOMEN?!?!?!? Will take them over rugby any day! cool.gif

Putting VLC in would be a bad move; people would be looking at the scenery instead of the plane.
I wonder if black paint would have any adverse effects?

I have to agree ... it's a pretty B-O-R-I-N-G (not to say predictable) repaint.

Also - considering the money ANZ will probably have splashed out for this sort of thing, I'm surprised the video wasn't created from a top-of-the-range FSX system, with a decent weather/texture add-on AND at least one RealNZ scenery active (with VLC, preferably).

I'd say there are quite a few people on NZFF far more capable of producing a better video than that. Maybe someone should offer????

I have never been a fan of using aircraft as flying billboards but this scheme is not too bad. The AllBblacks scheme is ...well boring. Black with a silver fern.
The design is clean and simple and there is no mistaking what it represents. I imagine that we may see more aircraft with RWC graphics appearing towards the end of this year.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Virgin Blue used a black scheme for a flying billboard a couple of years ago if I remember rightly, I think it was for Gilette.

I think it did a ML-PH trip, but can't remember for sure.
When asked what I have contributed to on this earth my reply will be my daugther

I would imagine over the summer months the aircon will be working a lot harder!! One of the reasons most planes have always had the upper fuselage painted white is to minimise heating from the sun.
