FSX won't start ?

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

I seem to have a problem that I can't resolve and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Basically FSX won't open, when I double click the shortcut as usual it dosn't get past the initial FSX screen no matter how long you leave it. sad.gif

Open the task master and not responding comes up next to FSX. When I close the program and try again I get the same problem, over and over.

This happened a few months ago, the only way I could solve it was to totally uninstall FSX and reinstall. Bit of a hassle.

I'm running windows 7.

Any help much appreciated.

The most common cause is generally a corrupt logbook. You can try backing up and deleting the logbook -- C:/Documents and Settings/username/My Documents/Flight Simulator X Files/Logbook.BIN -- and see if this helps. I think there is a fix for this on the file libraries -- try Flightsim.com or Avsim.com for FSXlogrecovery.

Cheers for that toprob, exactly as you said, a corrupt log book file, after deleting the file works a treat.

Didn't worry about the fix as the logbook info isn't important to me, thanks again. smile.gif
