Aeronautical Engineering Companys

A forum for everything else that does not fit into the other categories

I am needing to do manual mechanical engineering work for summer as part of my Bachelor of Engineering(Mechanical) degree.

As I am keen to get into the aviation sector after graduating I thought I would try to get an aviation orientated job for the summer before trying for jobs in other industries.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any major aeronautical engineering company's in NZ apart from the P&W Christchurch Engine Center and SAFE Air?

Fieldair in Palmerston North, Aeromotive in Hamilton, most of the provincial airports around NZ and even some of the smaller fields have on site maintenance facilities.
They are always keen to have a dogs body to do the odd jobs!

Aeromotive have a South Island subsidary operation in Timaru which may be a little closer to home for you.

Thanks for the help everyone! I will try the places that you have mentioned.... I am hoping to head back to Hawkes Bay for the summer (as my parents live there), so will try there as well.

Any places that have cheap accommodation are probably the most ideal as I will most likely need to pay double rent.

Flight Care is quite a large firm in Napier. They do a lot of turbine work and long term engine maintenance programs.

I was going to mention them but thought you might be after something bigger... (aircraft-wise that is)...
They employ their own engineers - at least a couple.
