VLC Observations

Hello everybody!
Glad to see Tim & Co are keeping their 'fingers on the pulse', and looking to further improve this wonderful masterpiece of graphical engineering.
A couple of initial thoughts of my own, are that it would be nice if were possible to remove Wigram (NZWG) from the scenery as it no longer exists, - I think I'm right in remembering that Jeppesen have deleted it.
Another observation is that when I used to travel from the UK to Christchurch, (26 hours airtime LHR-AKL via LA!), apporoaching Christchurch, I would see Sugarloaf, and think 'Ahh! almost there!'. This is a landmark of the area, and it would be nice if it were included in the service pack.
Once again, great work by all the nice folks involved in the project, and I look forward to your continued success.

Hello Pat , Wigram is still there and if i had my way still be operational ! the entire base still stands and could still be used but thanks to a thoughtless government and a bloody greedy tribe and for what , the loss off our New Zealand Aviation Heritage!

On a lessor note , The Sugerloaf , you can see this as far out as West Melton on a road and from the air arriving back from a Wanaka Airshow in the cockpit off a DC-3 well before over Rakaia River your landmark .

Hi Pat- thanks for the observations And welcome to the forum!

VLC is, first and foremost, a landclass package although we are working on replacement airports to correct alignment etc. Wigram is an interesting one- as far as I know, a lot of the facilities are still there (i.e. runway*, a couple of hangers) even though the aerodrome is not operational.

*although GE shows this is disappearing

In terms of sugar loaf- I'm assuming you mean the radio tower itself? I have been working on 'object packs' containing placement of various things from the standard FSX library so I'd imagine that will be included in an update of these. I'm doing these by FSX tile so am unsure if it will make the first patch or be included in a later one.

For now though, the priority is the mesh/ VLC and airport tweaks

Just an update to this, Sugarloaf radio tower is now correctly placed as of the V1.01 patch. Wigram still exists but may be sorted in an optional airfield update (optional as some users will want to keep the airfield active)
