Well... it is aerial photography biggrin.gif

This is a frame off a video from a "keychain" camera facing rearward off a 1.8m span electric motor-glider last Friday. I had been bating the magpies and I finally got one to play, although this is as close as he got.

Great weather over Hamilton though biggrin.gif

What I try to do is get them close... really close. Then go to full power, loop tightly and surprise them from the rear. You know you have won when they land and wait for you to go inside the house!!! That's what happened on Friday. It didn't move even though I was zooming 3 feel above it.

no animals were hurt during this nature encounter...

No, not me. There are heaps of modellers in Hamilton. Most don't belong to clubs unfortunately.
I back onto Flagstaff Park. It's not unusual for me to have a fly while the cuppa cools down!!!

Here is my local patch smile.gif A small Youtube home video... Local video of my park... click me smile.gif

You should have seen the look on my wife's face last night when I told her how I had been experimenting with r/c triggered diy electrical igniters and that fireworks are on sale today... and the new heli can carry a 4 kg payload smile.gif

It sort of went downhill from there actually. Hard to believe I know...

Here is the dilemma. 42 yo "mature male" with brains and a little common sense mixed in with awesome toys and the urge to spray fire everywhere plane.gif

Time to behave and do some renovating / painting... I dunno. I think the vanity unit looks good in the hall!!! clapping.gif

Make that payload 4 litres and get the wife to choose the colour.

Ok... slightly off topic but I have sorted the magpie issue.

Radar tracking camera mount converted to ummmm well something else cool.gif

Rearward facing flares in case of radar lock.

Side-shooting at rear in case of insurgents biggrin.gif

Seriously - firework and models is a no-go. This was done for the camera only...

Hand launch it. Consider flying without the u/c too...
