Welcome to the NZFF Screenshot Competition for December 2010.

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be at least 1024 pixels wide, and no wider than 1280 pixels -- this is a change from previously, so take note! Read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high resolution version saved on your computer; the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert into a site banner!

3) Images can be submitted from 1st until the 31st December 2010, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission before the closing date if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one (by using the edit button at the bottom of your post. Please don't post saying you have edited your original entry, as this creates unnecessary clutter).

4) Soon after the competition ends, a poll will open to decide who has the best image, and then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the prize for this month

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

6) This month's theme:

I thought I would pick a theme from things that will be happening this month.

So this month's theme is “A NEW ZEALAND HOLIDAYâ€￾

I would like to ask all members to patronize all our very generous prize sponsors
We have an excellent prize for this months competition.
For the winner of the December NZFF Screenshot competition Flight One Software have kindly donated one copy of the winner's choice from their Flight One download software titles.

Check out the Flight One download software titles http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?search=true
Thank you this months prize sponsor

Nice pic, mate - very vibrant colours. Did you retouch it at all? It's ok with me if you did - just curious as to whether you're getting such vibrant colours in-sim or not. thumbup1.gif plane.gif

My sim is close to default actually, so I most certainly did retouch the colours. Cheers smile.gif VLC and a John Murchison repaint are the stars of that screenshot smile.gif

Don't know about anyone else but wouldn't a true representation of a New Zealand holiday in flight sim involve a Cessna 172 towing a dangerously overloaded caravan, on its way to somewhere sandy, 7 hours away, with screaming kids in the back? smile.gif Or maybe an Air New Zealand A320 touching down on the Gold Coast? laugh.gif Just kidding. biggrin.gif But still this will be a difficult one. Good thing their is an excellent prize to spur me on winkyy.gif.

Cheers Splitpin, thanks for checking it out.

The thing i'm curious about is how do you guys get your objects so sharp, is that some sort of editing tool or something to do with HD?

Mine always look slightly blurred like a pretty girl in an old movie. smile.gif

Sarge, theres nothing wrong with your shots....if anything i over sharpen mine(but thats just me) most photo editing software will have a "sharpen" tool....some by default will take the sharpen to the max and you have to back it off , sometimes by more than half....or at least untill it looks right to you.
Your screen is clear, the colour is natural, the subject is well placed, the lighting is good....keep doing it thumbup1.gif(all, in my opinion....Im no expert)

If you dont have a photo editing programme, you could try "GIMP" is free and has a lot of photoshop like features. Im using Photoshop, but I'll never use to its full potential.....just had to have it...would have been better off sinking the money into some good f/s upgrades and addons.

And maybe those pretty girls are blurred for a reason....leaves a little something to the imagination. winkyy.gif

Great screen Sarge.... thumbup1.gif
