What section does AI traffic go in on the forums?

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Good question!

I voted scenery as they add to the surroundings....

Generally Aircraft sections of a form relate to flyable planes... but I could be wrong!

Maybe a mod could set up a new sub-forum of AI Planes? I did a search of HTAI to see where threads about that have popped up in the past and got nearly every category - aircraft, scenery, retro, general, technical .. .!

It really dose not matter , following works by Charl , Matt mentioned a new sub-forum of AI Planes is more practical .

I could easily set up a sub forum...but I don't have time to put old AI related threads in there unless someone volunteers...I wil see how this poll/thread gpes then make some changes

Just regarding AI Traffic, For those of you who live (or fly) in Christchurch I have recently created a traffic bgl that recreates the US Air force Operation Deep-freeze (The flights to Antarctica). Any one interested. It uses the UKMIL USAF C-17 and the LC-130 from mike stone w/ an additional paint. They fly from the military parking section in real life (I edited the Airport BGL and the Aircraft cfg) and added some default library objects to liven things up. Any one who knows of any other scenery is welcome to sugest their ideas. Will post some screen shots soon. (Just to rally liven the Aircraft/Scenery debate up laugh.gif )

Not a bad idea to have a subforum, AI is a topic all by itself.
AI can be air- or ground- or waterborne vehicles of course.
And critters too, just look at what Orbx is up to

And AFCADs impinge on scenery (in ways scenery designers often forget when they are producing their work.)
So the answer to the poll is: Yes!

Yeah I 2nd (or is it 3rd, or 4th now) the dedicated forum idea. Would be happy to help out, or support as a moderator if need be. Have done a fair bit of manual AI hacking. Its a great aspect of the hobby and doesnt get much attention really

Are the call signs "ICE" and incoming flights spoken in a very tired voice? that would make it realistic!

Can you change the call signs to whatever you please? I've still got mine as Air Force. I've also tried to upload my screenshot but there is an error with something. But I've contacted an administrator to let them know.

Following up , a poll , the AI .. I leveled the playing ground , appears to me FSX AI for New Zealand is better repusented in freeware than payware , Traffic X models are bloody horrible compared to the Orbx freeware FTX AI , trouble with them they don,t work in DX10 .
