World of AIhas plenty of heavy iron for NZ
GNZLAP does GA, at Snowman's site or flightsim.com
There's also a NZ bizjets package, search at the usual places.

There's one from Orbx which I recommend as they're FSX native models and free! This will not work with FS9.

FTX AU Traffic 3.01 - Mostly used for New Zealand and Australia.

I ran WOAI for a fair while. It takes a bit to get it all going to start with, but it really is very good!

I'm on Ultimate Traffic2 now, which is better (just) but costs money and punishes my framerate.

What I've never been able to find is a simply (free) utility that generates *random* GA (or airline) traffic around given airports. eg. It'd be great to have loads of training GA whizzing around places like Ardmore. Yes, you can "handcraft" individual aircraft/routes/times but they're always at those set times.

What about GNZLAP? - that would add a fair amount of aircaft to Ardmore if you have the HTAI Cessnas.

Nothing out there will truly "randomise" the flights, but you can make them different enough each day so as not to notice.
Why not try Markus Brunner's GA-Traffic? I'm fairly sure it can do something in FSX although it was written for FS9.
With a little effort (there's no free lunch) you could generate random traffic between any airports of your choice.

A random flight generator for GA is a great idea for a tool/service, the only thing is you can never rely on the same AI models being present or that their IDs in their aircraft.cfg will be consistent, unless of course you can source a bunch of AI models and skins and distribute them yourself with the original authors blessing.

Oh, and in the interem Adam, instead of randomising the AI flights, how about randomising the time of day you go flying instead tongue.gif

Hey Adam, am interested to hear about why you think its better? Is it just the convenience of not having to maintain WOAI packages and updates?

@charl and @deeknow ..
I found UT a bit more flexible - in that I can assign my own repaints to airline or GA traffic. Much better quality than the standard UT (or WOAI) models. But then there's a framerate penalty for those extra [large] textures.

Also, setting up a new airline with its own traffic is pretty easy in UT. I created a whole (fictional) schedule for Great Barrier for my fave BN-2 Islander. Yes, I must admit that updating WOAI got to be a tiny bit of a chore ... but worth it as it's free. By the same token - as UT is a hefty (monster) thing, it has all locations/airlines already programmed in. If I happen to go back to Gloucester on a whim, I don't need to search out the equivalent WOAI files.

I had a birthday when there were no other FS deals going (like Captain Sim) so I got UT instead.

Generally, I'm a pretty random sort of a guy laugh.gif ... I just thought it'd be easier to set Aircraft A, B, C or D to appear (say) 10 times a day each, at random. That'd still be 30 flight plans to create manually - and they'd always be the same. I just like to be surprised by what may (or may not) take off while I'm sat there on the tarmac.

When I want to set up a quick session with a few parked a/c and maybe a couple in circuit, I use Gerry Beckwith's (excellent) ATFX.

I suspect anyone that knows a bit about Sim Connect and a bit of basic programming could lash this up. Not me, I hasten to add!

It's beyond my meagre skills ... but come on chaps ... plenty of talent at NZFF ... don't want WB to spend his hard earned cash, Shirley? winkyy.gif

Just list the aircraft, schedules/routes and set NZFF'ers a challenge!!
