Scenery Library Problem

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby Bazza » Fri Dec 31, 2010 3:21 pm

Somehow while adding a new scenery to the Library, and moving the same down and into position, all the
previously installed airports are no longer showing .. just the one I have just added.

The fact that they are not displaying doesn't effect anything else, i.e. they still load up if
I select any particular one.

So now my Scenery Library is blank, all the boxes on the left hand side are showing ticked (enabled) but
there is no description or name to show what is on each line.

The problem now is that when trying to move a scenery down into what I consider the correct
spot for it, I have no reference as to what is either above or below it.

I have tried a repair re-install but that didn't help. Short of deleting all the Library and re-installing the
addon sceneries, does anyone have any thoughts. wub.gif

Just delete your Scenery.cfg file and restart FSX and it will build a new scenery.cfg file.

You may need to ensure hidden files and folders are visible as the cfg file is in your user/app data/roaming/microsoft/fsx folder.

Thanks for responding.

Deleted Scenery CFG which is now settled in Recycle Bin.

Restarted SFX, told to run disks thru, did that, no improvement...?

Succesfull conclusion to this muck-up....

I use XP so tried a system restore, which much to my surprise actually restored all my sceneries to the Library.

So, 1st result for 2011. thumbup1.gif

Hi Bazza,

I too had the disappearing scenery list (having tried the magic silver bullet!!!) but with your help I tried the restore trick and hay presto its fixed.

Thanks again

Stewart

PS with regards the magic silver bullet all I found it did was make the ground texures look awful!!!

Hi Stewart,

Pleased that it solved your drama as well...

As a non-technical type, this must be the first time I've ever been able to suggest something useful here....... clapping.gif
