Air New Zealand's All Black A320

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Introducing Air New Zealand Airbus A320-232 F-WWDF (cn 4553) ZK-OAB in Air New Zealand's All Black 'livery'. The livery is uniquely kiwi and uniquely rugby, and will serve NZ well during the world cup next year. Its just a pity this will be a domestic only livery as I would have loved to have seen it pop up in countries around the world.

Not sure who's seen the video of the new livery on an A320 in Flight Simulator HERE.

Here's a picture of the aircraft in Toulouse, France (LFBO).

Something about it doesn't quite fit for me...

Did they have to paint the white "door frames" on it....?

I wish they didn't as well but I guess they have to be able to see the aircraft in the dark?

Hey, thought i would just let you all know when OAB Arrives in Auckland and Christchurch.

OAB will arrive in Auckland at 3:30pm on Tuesday. Later she will go on a flight around New Zealand on Sunday the 6th of Feb. I asked Rob Fyfe what the arrival time will be in Christchurch and he said 3.25pm. OAB will be in Christchurch for 50mins.

I don't think anyone's posted the link, but they plan to have live video from 3pm on Tuesday 1st Feb (as they did for the arrival of the 777-300ER) at the following link:

Video is streaming Live presently although - being 30 or so mins prior to arrival not much is going on - although getting some great aerial shots of auckland when they switch to the Helicam including a C-130 Landing at whenuapai.

Yeah the shot of the Hercules landing at Whenuapai was a nice bonus! They said the video should be uploaded to their YouTube channel later tonight or tomorrow.

That was fantastic coverage, better than the 777 footage I reckon. And re the 320 livery, I wasnt taken with it from stills and the overland repaint but in the live video it looked much more balanced, pretty mean. ninja.gif
