Red Checkers Air 2 Air 2011.

A separate section for photographers to upload and comment on everything from amateur plane spotting images to professional air to air shots.

In 2008 we flew with the Red Checkers, and used a civilian Nanchang as a camera ship, something that had never been done before but the results were good so three years later we did it again, just last Friday.
These flights are hard work but quite rewarding, I worked up a good plan and with Jim Rankin's help we made it work, special thanks to the team and to those in the RNZAF who made this flight possible.
As much as I enjoy flying with the team, photographing the team in this fashion is more important to me as their are more options available if done well and the whole team is able to be photographed.

More to follow:

Great work - especially in darker overcast conditions.

Like the weather in Masteron last month, very demanding on the photographer but the sky texture and lack of shadows make a great contrast to the usual blue sky shotz thumbup1.gif
