Some northern hemisphere simming

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

I was going through my screenshots for February, and thought I might share a few with you. I tend to fly in other parts of the world now days after clocking up hundreds of NZ hours, so forgive these being out of country. But, my title warned you they would be. Hopefully you'll just enjoy them for being different.

First up, 2nd Feb, departing Amsterdam for Orlando, FL.

Arriving into Phoenix after the flight in from Providence

Arriving into Santa Ana, California in the 752

And departing again in the new United scheme to SFO

Departing Seattle for the long cross country to Boston

On final into Boston. Weather not as bad as the metar was predicting..

Longer haul, Portland to Amsterdam with Delta

Climbing out above the clouds over Salt Lake City, UT

Spooky skies pushing back in Boise, ID - heading to Spokane, WA (unedited)

Approach to land again into Seattle

Heading northwards to Fairbanks, Alaska in Salmon-thirty-salmon

Approaching the northern most point of Alaska, the town of Barrow! WILD weather today, winds from 220, 38 knots gusting 54. Considering it's a crosswind, on an icy runway, this is probably well beyond the limitations of the aircraft laugh.gif

Passing some volcanic cones along the Aleutian peninsula, heading to another very isolated place, Adak Island.

And lining up for Adak, once again battling strong, gusting winds, but that's half the fun smile.gif

Cheers for looking!

All my favourite payware toys biggrin.gif (I'm a boeing boy)
Level D for the Boeing 767.
Quality Wings 757
737NG is by iFly (my PMDG 737 has been retired after giving me many years of excellent service)
737-300/400 is the 50North with freeware panel and sounds
Cheers Paul smile.gif

And thanks to Doug for the computer upgrade and repair a few weeks ago. Sure works great now winkyy.gif

What a great series - full of texture, full of depth!
FlyTampa KBOS always a favourite too.
Wonder what the diehards are thinking in both companies under the new "Continented" banner...

Thanks guys. Yes I'm still cruising in FS9, but also using FSX. Depends really what I am flying and where. I've been flying the iFly 737 a bit this month, and it's FS9 only at this time.
I'm not anti-airbus by any standard, I just don't feel like learning from square one all over again so stick to what I know.
I haven't upgraded to Flytampa Boston 2.0, this is just the free one from avsim. One of the great freebies out there. Also Charl are you using the free KPHL scenery in FS9? It's really amazing if you haven't seen it. I'm not sure what the diehards are thinking of the Continented merger, the new livery is growing on me smile.gif
Cheers,

I bought the Overland airliners - all the Boeing and all the Airbus - because I wanted a decent A380.
It's still the best around, and had a surprising (to me) spinoff.
The pointy end of one AB is pretty much the same as all the rest, so I found myself flying AB more often than not.
It's a trend Boeing has finally picked up on; you don't need to retrain all your pilots from scratch as they graduate up the food chain!

Back to topic: my non-NZ sim leans to Eastern Europe these days, but I do have KPHL, along with some other excellent freeware offerings from 'Shez' Ansari, like the brilliant KLGB

Thank you SP! Just glad if I can put in half the effort you do! laugh.gif

Edit: Ohh I know that name now. I wrote to him to ask for a reupload of his KSNA airport to avsim after the hack. Yes I'm a fan too smile.gif

Nah, I've not had the budget these recent years so I stick with faithful old Activesky. Clouds are thanks to the freeware HDE2.0. I use low resolution clouds on the theory my gfx card can then support more clouds, rather than having to work on detailed clouds. I think it works nicely smile.gif
Cheers!
